PGA of America elects Jim Richerson as president

Richerson, a Troon executive from Scottsdale, Ariz., succeeds Suzy Whaley as head of the 29,000-member organization

Elected: By the PGA of America, as its 42nd president, Jim Richerson of Scottsdale, Ariz. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the election was held virtually during the PGA’s 104th annual meeting. Richerson is the senior vice president of operations for Troon, a golf-management company, and a member of the Southwest PGA Section. He succeeds Suzy Whaley, who was the president for two years and was appointed as the PGA’s honorary president. In other moves, John Lindert of Grand Ledge, Mich., was named vice president, and Don Rea of Gilbert, Ariz., was elected secretary. The PGA represents nearly 29,000 club professionals.
