Tiger Woods cancels Hero World Challenge

The 18-man PGA Tour exhibition event, which had been set for Dec. 3-6 at Albany, Bahamas, falls victim to the coronavirus pandemic

Canceled: By Tiger Woods’ TGR Foundation, the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, officials announced Monday, citing “current global restrictions and ongoing developments resulting from COVID-19,” according to a statement released by the PGA Tour. The elite 18-player event, a PGA Tour exhibition that awards world-ranking points, was scheduled to have been played Dec. 3-6 at Albany, Bahamas. Woods won the event five times and finished runner-up five times, all at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., which is the site of this week’s Zozo Championship and Woods’ only appearance before the Masters next month.
