2020 CJ Cup at Shadow Creek: PGA Tour to feature live odds during play

In a deal with BetMGM, odds will be updated twice per hour during the 4 rounds ‘to engage fans in new and creative ways’

Announced: By the PGA Tour, that live betting odds will be featured on a tournament telecast for this first time during this week’s CJ Cup at Shadow Creek. In a deal with BetMGM that was announced Monday, odds will be integrated during tournament play beginning with Thursday’s first round at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. “The focus of our sports-betting partnerships is to engage fans in new and creative ways,” Norb Gambuzza, the PGA Tour’s senior vice president of media and gaming, said in a statement. “As an element of that strategy, we began integrating live odds onto Tour digital platforms in August, and now we look forward to learning from this first-time test in a live telecast.” BetMGM will provide updated odds twice per hour. Leaderboards will be integrated with “open” and “current” odds to win, plus odds on head-to-head player matchups, winning margin, holes-in-one and other so-called proposition bets. Under Jay Monahan, who is in his fourth year as the PGA Tour's commissioner, golf gaming has increased its presence in professional golf, which for years distanced itself from any association with gamblers. Odds also are featured on the PGA Tour's website.
