Dustin Johnson begins play Friday with a 2-stroke lead under the weighted scoring system at the PGA Tour’s season-ending event
Dustin Johnson might not need an advantage, as well as he has been playing lately, but he will have one just the same.
Johnson, who is No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking and in the FedEx Cup standings, will start the Tour Championship on Friday at Atlanta's East Lake Golf Club at 10 under par and two strokes ahead of Jon Rahm, his nearest competitor, in the weighted scoring system. Johnson, who was runner-up to Rahm last week in the BMW Championship, has finished 2-1-2 in his three most recent starts.
The rest of the 30-man field will have its work cut out for it as $45 million in bonus money will be at stake, with $15 million to the winner (scores and tee times).
