European Tour creates 2nd U.K. Swing

Scottish Open and BMW PGA move up 1 week in September and will follow the Irish Open, establishing a 2nd series of U.K. events

Moved: By the European Tour, the dates for the Scottish Open and the BMW PGA. The tournaments, both part of the tour’s lucrative Rolex Series, will move forward one week apiece on the European Tour’s revised schedule. The Scottish Open will be played Oct. 1-4 at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, the site of the LPGA’s recent Ladies Scottish Open. The BMW PGA will move into the date vacated by the Scottish Open, on Oct. 8-11 at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, England. The tournaments will follow the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, which will be played Sept. 24-27 at Galgorm Castle Golf Club in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, establishing a second U.K. Swing. This week, the tour will play the Wales Open, the fifth event on the six-tournament U.K. Swing that was developed to limit travel during the global coronavirus pandemic.
