LPGA pulls plug on another Asian event

Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA will not be played, tour announces, citing travel complications relating to the coronavirus pandemic

Canceled: By the LPGA, the Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA tournament, which had been scheduled for Oct. 29-Nov. 1 at Miramar Golf Country Club, the tour announced Thursday night. The LPGA cited complications from the global coronavirus pandemic and international travel restrictions. It was the second time in 48 hours that the women’s tour scratched a tournament from its fall Asia Swing. Two days earlier, the Buick LPGA Shanghai in China was canceled. That leaves only 14 events remaining on the tour’s revised schedule, and just two stops – South Korea and Japan – on what had been a four-tournament Asia Swing.
