PGA Tour pulls plug on 2020 China Series

Travel complications related to the global coronavirus pandemic doom the developmental tour’s season

Canceled: By the PGA Tour, its 2020 China Series, the Tour announced Tuesday, citing travel complications related to the global coronavirus pandemic. The scrapping of the developmental tour follows a similar decision to cancel the season on the Mackenzie Tour in Canada. The China Series typically plays March-October and serves as a pathway to the Korn Ferry Tour. Players who earned China Series membership following the 2019 season via a top-50 finish on the Order of Merit will maintain their China Series status in 2021. The players who earned their cards via the 2020 Mainland China Qualifying Tournament can keep their China Series membership for 2021, as well.
