American grabs TPC San Antonio Championship at The Oaks to take top spot in season standings, needing 1 more victory for automatic promotion to PGA Tour
2: Number of victories on the Korn Ferry Tour this season for American Davis Riley, who won the TPC San Antonio Championship at The Oaks. Riley shot 5-under 67 on Saturday at TPC San Antonio for a 16-under 272 total and two-stroke victory. Riley also won the Panama Championship on Feb. 2. Riley, 23, who turned pro last year after playing college golf at Alabama, moved to the top of the developmental tour’s season standings. With one more victory this season, Riley would become the 12th player in tour history to earn an automatic promotion to the PGA Tour. It was the fourth top-10 result in 11 starts for Riley. France’s Paul Barjon (69) and Canada’s Taylor Pendrith (67) tied for second at 14-under 274. Will Zalatoris, who won two weeks ago at TPC Colorado and is Riley’s roommate, tied for fifth. It was his fifth consecutive top-10 result, one shy of the tour record (scores).
