European Tour resets 2 events on Iberian Peninsula

Andalucia Masters and Portugal Masters will be played in consecutive weeks in early September, tour announces

Rescheduled: By the European Tour, two tournaments on the Iberian Peninsula for early September, the tour announced Wednesday in a news release. The Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters will be played Sept. 3-6 at Real Club Valderrama in Sotogrande, Spain, followed the next week by the Portugal Masters on Sept. 10-13 at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course. The Andalucia Masters had been scheduled for late April, and the Portugal Masters originally was set for October. Under the tour’s revised schedule, the Iberian events extend a strategy to play in regional clusters so as to minimize travel and reduce the possibility of exposure to the coronavirus. Play restarts this week with the Austrian Open, the first of two consecutive events in Austria, before the tour plays a six-tournament U.K. Swing in England and Wales.
