2020 Workday Charity Open: Viewer’s guide, TV times, how to watch

Muirfield Village Golf Club hosts PGA Tour for back-to-back events

After Bryson DeChambeau blitzed Detroit Golf Club last week in winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic, the PGA Tour makes the 200-mile trip south from the Motor City to Dublin, Ohio, for the first of back-to-back events at Muirfield Village Golf Club. This week’s Workday Charity Open is newly created and replaces the canceled John Deere Classic.

It will be interesting to see how the PGA Tour varies the course setup between the Workday and next week’s Memorial Tournament. In a memo to players, the Tour indicated that the Workday would feature rough cut to 3½ inches and greens running at “normal” country club speeds of roughly 11 feet on the Stimpmeter. These slower-than-normal green speeds will create a few new hole locations, and the players also will use different tee boxes on some holes to spread the wear on the course. For the Memorial, the rough will be higher and green speeds will hit 13-13½ on the Stimpmeter.

The Workday will be the fifth consecutive week since the season restart during the coronavirus pandemic that spectators will be banned because of social-distancing concerns. Once again, the broadcast will feature Golf Channel and CBS calling the action.
