Because of the coronavirus-shortened schedule, no season champion on the 50-and-older tour will be crowned until November 2021
Combined: By the Champions Tour, the 2020 and 2021 seasons in response to the coronavirus pandemic, tour officials announced Thursday. Thus, the next season champion will not be crowned until November 2021, at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. The 50-and-older tour has lost eight tournaments from its original 27-event schedule. Other changes on the revised schedule, effective with the return to competition July 31 at The Ally Challenge in Grand Blanc, Mich.: 81-player fields, up from 78; season championship reduced from 72 to 54 holes; no Q-School this fall. Players will retain their eligibility in 2021.
