Pepperdine, Furman players win college golf honors

Waves’ Sahith Theegala claims Fred Haskins Award as top male college golfer, and Paladins’ Natalie Srinivasan wins Annika Award as top female player in coronavirus-abbreviated season

Named: As college golf’s top male and female players, Pepperdine’s Sahith Theegala and Furman’s Natalie Srinivasan, respectively, organizers announced Friday. Theegala, a redshirt senior from Chino Hills, Calif., earned the Fred Haskins Award after he won two tournaments during the past season in a campaign shortened by the coronavirus pandemic. He finished No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings. Srinivasan, a senior from Spartanburg, S.C., won the Annika Award after she won three times in six starts during the past season. She was No. 4 in the Golfweek women’s rankings.
