Ill-fated World Amateur Team Championships won't be played

The biennial men’s and women’s events, which had been moved earlier in the year from Hong Kong to Singapore because of social unrest, fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic

Canceled: By the International Golf Federation, the World Amateur Team Championships, officials announced Wednesday, citing the coronavirus pandemic. The two-week event, with the women and men playing consecutively, was scheduled for Oct. 14-17 and Oct. 21-24, respectively, at Tanah Merah Country Club and Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore. In February, the biennial event had been moved from Hong Kong to Singapore because of social unrest on the island.
