LPGA’s developmental tour also adds 2 events and moves its season-ending Tour Championship from Florida to North Carolina
Announced: By the Symetra Tour, that it has delayed the restart of its 2020 schedule by two weeks and added two tournaments, officials said Thursday, citing the ongoing effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The Prasco Charity Championship, which will signal the resumption of play on the LPGA’s developmental tour, will push back two weeks, to July 8-10 in Maineville, Ohio. The tour added two yet-to-be-named events: Aug. 27-29 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz., and Oct. 28-31 at Pinehurst (N.C.) Resort’s No. 9 Course. The tour also postponed the Island Resort Championship, which had been set for June 19-21 at Sweetgrass Golf Club in Harris, Mich., and moved the dates and site of its Symetra Tour Championship. The season-ending event will be played Nov. 3-6 at River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C., moving from the original Oct. 1-4 slot at LPGA International’s Jones Course in Daytona Beach, Fla., site of the LPGA’ s headquarters. If the revised schedule holds, the Symetra Tour will play 16 tournaments after having 20 on the original lineup.
