LPGA’s developmental tour pushes restart of season into late June
Postponed: By the Symetra Tour, the next five tournaments on the LPGA developmental tour’s schedule this spring, citing the coronavirus pandemic. The move pushes the season restart into at least late June. The Symetra Tour postponed these events: May 7-9, IOA Invitational, Milton, Ga.; May 13-15, Symetra Classic, Davidson, N.C.; May 20-23, Zimmer Biomet Championship, Opelika, Ala.; May 29-31, CDPHP Open, Albany, N.Y.; June 12-14, Four Winds Invitational, South Bend, Ind. The tour also rescheduled two events that had been postponed earlier: IOA Championship, originally scheduled for March 27-29, will be played Aug. 21-23 at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Beaumont, Calif; and the Four Winds Invitational, originally scheduled for June 12-14, will be played July 31-Aug. 2 at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Ind. The Symetra Tour has played only one event this season, the Florida's Natural Charity Classic in early March in Winter Haven, Fla. The next scheduled tournament will be June 19-21 with the Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass Golf Club in Harris, Mich.
