USGA, R&A delay Curtis Cup until 2021

Coronavirus concerns also postpone British Amateur and British Women’s Amateur by 2 months, until late August

Postponed: The Curtis Cup, until 2021, the U.S. Golf Association and the R&A jointly announced Wednesday, citing the coronavirus pandemic. The biennial event, which matches the top amateurs from the U.S. against their counterparts from Great Britain and Ireland, had been scheduled for June 12-14 at Conwy (Wales) Golf Club. No new dates were announced, but the event still will be hosted at Conwy. The Curtis Cup joins a growing list of worldwide golf tournaments to have been postponed or canceled amid the outbreak. The R&A also rescheduled its British Amateur and British Women’s Amateur tournaments. Both had been slotted for late June but will move to the last week in August. The U.S. leads the Curtis Cup series, 29-8-3. The host team has won each of the past five matches.
