Died: Jo Ann Washam, a three-time winner on the LPGA in the 1970s, on Dec. 6 near Seattle, according to a report in the Seattle Times. She was 69 and had suffered from various ailments in recent years, including diabetes, and surgeries for a heart bypass and for back and neck issues. In the past year, Washam had been dealing with a fracture and an infection, according to the report. Washam, of Auburn, Wash., played basketball and golf at Washington State, which she attended on an Evans Scholarship for caddies and others coming up in the golf industry. She played the LPGA in 1973-89.
