South Korean replaces Jason Day, who dropped out of next week's matches against the U.S. because of a back injury
Announced: By International team captain Ernie Els, that South Korean Byeong Hun An has been added to the roster for the Presidents Cup. An will replace Australia’s Jason Day, who cited a back injury in pulling out of next week’s matches against the Americans. An, 28, has not won on a major professional tour since 2015 in Europe and Korea, ranked No. 43 in the Official World Golf Ranking. It will be his Presidents Cup debut. He finished 15th in the team standings, from which the top eight qualified before Els made four at-large picks to complete his 12-man roster. An will be the second Korean on the 2019 team, joining Sungjae Im, the PGA Tour’s reigning rookie of the year. The Presidents Cup will be played Dec. 12-15 at Royal Melbourne in Australia.
