Announced: By the PNC Father/Son Challenge, that Annika Sorenstam will be the first female professional to compete in the exhibition that attracts many of golf's all-time greats. Sorenstam, 49, whose 72 LPGA victories rank third on the tour’s all-time list, will team with her father, Tom. The 36-hole scramble is scheduled for Dec. 7-8 at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. In 2003, Sorenstam became the first woman in 58 years to compete in a PGA Tour event when she played in the Colonial event in Fort Worth, Texas. She retired from competition in 2008.
