With less than 4 weeks until the PGA Tour is scheduled to resume play, John Hawkins and Mike Purkey debate the timeline for a return to competition. Hawk & Purk, in agreement? In this instance, yes
Co-hosts John Hawkins and Mike Purkey discuss the risks of resuming the PGA Tour season amid the coronavirus pandemic during the second week in June – and compare the Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson match later this month to the Seminole four-ball. Will the Tour be ready in a few weeks? Purkey still has questions. Among them: “Are they going to have enough [coronavirus] tests to test properly all of the players, volunteers, officials and media? How’s that going to work?” Purk puts it to Hawk simply: “If you were a PGA Tour player and you had a wife and you had a family, would you start playing again in June, given what we know now?” Said Hawkins: “No, I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t be afraid as much as I would just want to err on the side of caution.”
