Reader sticks up for Alex Miceli (no, really)

Commentator's criticism of Phil Mickelson generates support, if not for opinions, at least for writer’s ability to make his case

Everyone is entitled, I guess, to his opinion, but not all opinions are created equal ("From the Morning Read inbox," May 23).

Alex Miceli is a giant in the golf journalism world, an innovator and an entrepreneur, and has been for a long time. He is always thought-provoking and entertaining. I like everything he has to say, even when I do not necessarily agree with it.

Taking potshots at him for his views on Phil Mickelson might be good sport, but it’s hardly sporting  (“Phil Mickelson emerges as story of week, but too bad he doesn’t want to talk about it,” May 22). I hope that Miceli just considers the source.
