3 U.S. tour winners wear cleated shoes

WINNERS ON PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS AND WEB.COM ALL CAPTURE VICTORIES IN CLEATED FOOTWEAR

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., April 22, 2019 – “Winners wear cleats” was once again proven correct as the winners at the RBC Heritage, Mitsubishi Electric Classic and Robert Trent Jones Trail Championship were all wearing footwear featuring replaceable cleat technology.

“All of these tournaments were played in a variety of playing conditions reinforcing the importance of cleats for stability and balance,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports®. “It’s always nice to see the pros win in our cleats but they also provide game improvement for golfers of all skill levels.”

At the RBC Heritage played at Harbour Town Golf Links, 31 of the top 40 finishers chose replaceable cleat technology over spikeless/athletic shoes. The winner was wearing Nike® Vapor React 2 golf shoes featuring Softspikes® Silver Tornado® cleats. The winners of the PGA Tour Champions and the Web.com events wear wearing FootJoy® Fury with Softspikes® Pulsar® cleats and FootJoy Icon with Champ® Pro Stinger® cleats respectively.

Replacement Softspikes® and Champ cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.

PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP and Softspikes brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.

CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.softspikes.com.
