Ted Bishop

Bishop served as the 38th president of the PGA of America in 2013-14. He is recognized as one of the most proactive presidents in the history of the association. During his term, the PGA opposed the USGA's ban on the anchored stroke, grew its relationship with the PGA Tour, created the Deacon Palmer Award, the Ryder Cup task force and named public courses such as Bethpage Black and Harding Park as sites of major PGA events. Bishop has spent 44 years as a club professional. He is one of the owners and the operator of The Legends Golf Club, a 45-hole public facility in Franklin, Ind. He also serves as the co-head coach of the Franklin Community High School boys and girls golf programs. Bishop is a member of the Indiana Golf Hall of Fame.
