(BRANSON, MISSOURI) – Providing something for everyone who appreciates golf, the Branson-area destination has many reasons to visit this season, starting with a professional tournament, a new course, and a variety of spring events and specials.

Bass Pro Legends of Golf
Big Cedar Lodge will host the PGA TOUR Champions Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf, April 24-28, 2019. In addition to seeing some of the greatest golfers ever compete for three rounds (April 26-28), spectators can enjoy other scheduled activities including the Legends Competition, April 27. New Course Opening
One of the biggest highlights of the Bass Pro Legends of Golf this season is the official debut of brand-new Ozarks National, an 18-hole championship coursed designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. The fourth golf course at Big Cedar Lodge, Ozarks National will be played as part of the Legends of Golf. Thereafter, the course will be open to the public, increasing the number of Branson-area golf courses to nine. A 10th area course (and Big Cedar’s fifth) – Payne’s Valley by Tiger Woods’ golf architecture firm, TGR Design – is currently under construction. For more information about Payne’s Valley, including a video of Woods talking about what the course means to him, visit https://golfbigcedar.com/golf-courses/paynes-valley-course/

LedgeStone Hosts Season-Opening Tourney
One of the area’s most popular courses, public access LedgeStone Country Club, will host the 2nd Annual Get the Season Going Tournament (GTSGT), March 23-24. The two-player Scramble format event includes two 18-hole rounds, lunch both days, and payouts awarded to teams with the lowest combined two-day totals in their flights. Specially Priced Green Fees at The Pointe
The Pointe at Pointe Royale Golf Village is aerating its greens in late March. To offset that annual course-improvement maintenance practice, The Pointe is offering $10 off green fees from March 25-April 4. Players teeing off prior to 9:50 am during March 25-31 pay only $29, while those who play from 10 am to dusk pay $39. From April 1-4, the price is $39 until 9:50 am, $49 from 10 am to dusk, with the discount applied. Peak season prices begin on April 15 – topping out at $75 – so there’s substantial savings before then. For golfers whose mantra is more golf is better golf, consider "Day at The Pointe." This season-long special provides 36 holes in one day for $99 plus tax.

Enhancements at Branson Hills
A recent remodeling at Branson Hills has revitalized the top-rated golf course’s clubhouse with new carpets, new paint, new light fixtures, and more. The golf club has also added a new E-Z-GO golf cart fleet with lithium batteries. “There are several benefits to using carts with lithium batteries,” according to Dan Davis, Branson Hills Director of Golf. “They go two rounds without losing their charge, they provide a cost savings through taking less time to charge and holding their charge longer, and they weigh about 200 pounds less than carts with lead cell batteries. That means less of a footprint, less wear and tear on the golf course.”

Thousand Hills “Foursome Special”
The more is merrier according to Thousand Hills Golf Resort, which is offering is Foursome Special for $199 plus tax. To receive the special rate, golfers must go to https://www.thousandhills.com/branson-golf/specials-coupons/ and print and turn in the coupon at check-in. Players can also show the coupon on their phones to receive the discounted price. Those not playing in a foursome can also receive reduced price green fees by booking online. A tee time prior to 1 pm daily that is booked online drops from $69 to $59, and tee times after 1 pm from $59 to $49. Thousand Hills offers a variety of lodging options, and is particularly popular with golf groups who appreciate staying in the multi-room condos with living rooms and kitchens across from the course.
